A first edition memoir of the Russian Revolution by White Army general and later Nazi collaborator, Pyotr Krassnoff, offering a detailed and partisan account of the fall of Imperial Russia and the rise of Bolshevism. In the publisher's original quarter dark cloth binding with red paper boards.First published in English in 1926 by Duffield and Company, New York, this is the fourth large printing of the American edition.A political and historical memoir by the Russian military officer and writer Pyotr Nikolayevich Krassnoff, recounting the collapse of Imperial Russia and the rise of Bolshevism during the Russian Revolution.Krassnoff briefly served as Ataman of the Don Cossack Host and attempted to establish an independent anti-Bolshevik administration in southern Russia, at times negotiating with German forces during the closing stages of the First World War. Written in exile after his defeat and departure from Russia in 1920, the memoir reflects the wider body of émigré literature produced by White officers. His later career remains controversial.
