The chronological range is from the earliest period to about the 7th century AD. This is the second volume of a work that was expected to be completed in six volumes; and covers Athens. It provides a complete conspectus of evidence for every identifiable resident of Athens in antiquity, except for foreigners whose ethnic is known. The book is bound in the original dark blue cloth covered boards with gold titling on the spine. The case of the book is in very good condition with light bumping to the top corners and bottom of the spine. The contents are tight and clean with no inscription. The unclipped dustwrapper is very good with rubbing along the bottom edge and top rear edge. The spine ends and top corners are bumped and there is a tear of about 1/4" on the bottom rear edge.
