La scorsa estate, in pieno luglio, mentre i laghi di tutta Italia cominciavano a riempirsi di gente in ciabatte con l'asciugamano, la crema solare e gli occhiali da sole, un piccolo lago — minuscolo ma lago all'ennesima potenza visto che si chiama lago di Lago — ha iniziato a popolarsi di strane creature: alcune di esse erano semplicemente appassionati di cinema, cortometraggi e animazione, arrivati lì per il Lago Film Fest, altre invece avevano code, arti in sovrappiù, bocche enormi, strane abitudini alimentari, tra cui magari papparsi gli appassionati di cui sopra, e uscivano dalle lagose acque del lago di Lago — se e quando ne avevano voglia, ma abbastanza da essere state avvistate da bambini e artisti.Quegli avvistamenti sono poi diventati un vero e proprio bestiario, più precisamente il Bestiario Criptozoologico Lacustre di cui parlai in anteprima in quegli stessi giorni.Ideato e realizzato da Francesco Croce e Sara Pellegrino, con il supporto di Morena Faverin e un gruppo di bambini, il libro raccoglie 63 creature, ciascuna ritratta da un illustratore differente. Hardcover. Zustand: Near Fine. Beautiful book of emblems by an Augustinian scholar Filippo Picinelli (1604-1679). The Symbolic World was first published in 1653 in Venice. It was a typical emblematic treatise of the Counter-Reformation. The Symbolic World (1653) by the Jesuit [Augustinian] Picinelli is a collection of cases intended for preachers, in which the emblems represent the various vices and the mottos translate the visual messages into the form of an epigram, expressing the educational will of the Counter-Reformation: thus the cat when he is bunting just before scratching, it depicts the lascivious woman, who "when she jokes, mocks" (cum ledit, laedit) (Paolo Rinoldi, L emblematica). The copper plates were carved by a famous Milanese engraver Simone Durello (1641-1719). Text in Italian. In 4to. Complete. 33.6x22.2cm. 16 pages for the introduction + 892 pages for the main text + 114 pages for the index. 54 copperplate illustrations. Vellum binding with four raised bands.
