Written by Edward Caldwell Rye, an English natural historian and entomologist who was the father of entomologist Bertram George Rye. Revised and in part re-written by Reverend Canon Fowler, the secretary to the Entomological Society of London and editor of the "Entomologist's Monthly Magazine". With sixteen pages of advertisements to the rear. In the original full cloth binding. Externally, smart with light rubbing and minor bumping to the extremities. The odd small mark to the cloth.
