Also a later owner's inscription on title page, dated 1962. [1-5], I-IV, 1-55, a-e (glossary), [1-2 (blank)] leaves + 2 illustrated leaves. The illustrated leaves are following leaf 20 (facsimile illustration of Spelling Book Issued October, 1825" and following leaf 51 (facsimile illustration of First Hawaiian Hymn Book [1823]). All leaves printed on one side of each leaf only. Appears to be produced by mimeograph. Transcript of the journal of a missionary to Hawaiian islands, 1824-1826. "Original owned by Dr. Wm. D. Westervelt and placed in the University of Hawaii". "Mr. and Mrs. Elisha Loomis were among the first missionaries sent by the American Board Commissioners of Foreign Missions to begin Missionary work in the Sandwich or, as now known, the Hawaiian Islands.".
