Hardcover. Zustand: Used; Good. A wonderful vintage edition of Gulliver?s Travels by Dean / Jonathan Swift. This story is a much-loved satire on human nature and behaviour that still rings true today. Follow Lemuel Gulliver?s Travels to the fantastic lands of Lilliput, a place of little people who are violently divided over the most trivial of differences, to Brobdingnag, a land of cultured giants, and Laputa, a flying island where the inhabitants pursue impractical science and research. This edition is illustrated throughout and contains some full colour plates. ??My little friend Grildrig, you have made a most admirable panegyric upon your country: you have clearly proved, that ignorance, idleness, and vice are the proper ingredients for qualifying as a legislator; that laws are best explained, interpreted, and applied by those whose interest and abilities lie in perverting, confounding, and eluding them.?
