The film follows the story of a troubled young woman who seeks out emotionally crippled men and invites them to live with her for a month in an attempt to "cure" them. However, she and Mr. November become quite attached, and when he tries to continue the relationship past its prescribed termination, he uncovers Sara's (Sandy Dennis) tragic secret.
