Swiss folk art is covered with chapters on or covering wood work (furniture, ch…alets), costumes, textiles, metal work, pottery & glassware, toys, stone lamps, masks, jewellery, stoves, stained glass, etc. Significant in the art world in Switzerland, Baud-Bovy was curator of the Rath Museum, director of the school of fine arts in Geneva (from 1908 to 1919), president of the Federal Commission of fine arts, artistic correspondent of the Encyclopedique Review, poet, author of numerous novels, and short stories often illustrated by his painter friends and children's plays. He was also a mountain climber.
