In den WarenkorbPaperback. Zustand: Very Good. The aim of this book is to stimulate criminological debate on issues of crime, race, racism and criminal justice and to offer practical guidance to those seeking to address race issues and confront racism. The text first critiques existing - largely empirical - research on race and criminal justice, and then presents theoretical advances in criminology and sociology, examining the methodological implications of applying such theory to future research. After reassessing the value of past research, particularly in terms of policy development, contributors discuss issues such as competing ethnic classification schemes, the definition of `racial and ethnic data in criminal justice agency records. Theoretical contributions consider the development of anti-racism; the relationship between race and wider sociologies of disadvantage; the `racialization of the politics of crime and the `criminalization of the politics of race during the 1980s. Finally, the book examines one of the key problems for the 1990s: the development of discourses and control strategies which exclude black people from enjoyment of full citizenship rights. The book has been read, but is in excellent condition. Pages are intact and not marred by notes or highlighting. The spine remains undamaged.

Hardcover. Zustand: Near Fine. Zustand des Schutzumschlags: Fine. First Edition. Three full books in one: : To the Top of the Continent / The Conquest of Mount McKinley / The Ascent of Denali. Stated First Edition, First Printing, with "1" in "number" line present. Prodigious editorial comments by noted mountaineer Art Davidson for each of the three books. Interestingly, Frederick Cook's claim to have climbed "Denali" (a.k.a. Mount McKinley) is provably false. Sadly, Belmore Browne had tragically to turn back just short of the summit. Hudson Stuck, however, became the first climber actually to reach the summit of Denali. Fine-looking, structurally sound hardcover, little discernible wear, bright interior, unmarked but for remainder mark along bottom edge. Volume contains scholarly apparatus in the form of, e.g., notes, index, and bibliography. Many, many score illustrations throughout including paintings and photographs [17], 18-751 pp.Member, I.O.B.A., C.B.A., and adherent to the highest ethical standards.
