Neutra, Adolf Meyer, Jan Visek, Martin Elsaesser, Hanns Hopp, Adolf Abel, Otto Bartning, Alfred Fischer, and Max Taut among others. Also includes architectural projects by Mies van der Rohe. Text in German. Light wear along edges with minor chipping along top edge and tail of spine, small one and a half inch closed tear at top near foredge. Erste Ausgabe. - Neben Widmungs- und Gelegenheitsgedichten enthält der Band vier erzählende Gedichte und einige Übersetzungen aus dem Russischen (u.a. von Puschkin und Lomonossow). Bemerkenswert neben vielem Anderen ein köstliches Ehrenrettungsgedicht für Jean Paul, ergänzt durch eine lange satirische Anmerkung). Wilhelm Wolfsohn (1820-1865), aus einer strenggläubigen jüdischen Familie in Odessa stammend, studierte u.a. Medizin (in Leipzig) und Geisteswissenschaften. 1862 wurde er Herausgeber der "Russische Revue" (ab 1864 "Nordische Revue). Schon früh begann er unter dem Pseudonym Carl Maien dichterische Versuche zu veröffentlichen. In Leipzig war er mit Ferdinand Lassalle bekannt, der Wolfsohn fast schon zur Heine-Schule zugehörig sah und einige seiner Dichtungen besonders lobte: ".er ist ein Kämpe für das Judenthum. Er ist in der Poesie, was Gabriel Riesser in der Prosa" (zit. nach Mendheim, M. in: ADB XLIV (1898), S. 132 f. [Onlinefassung].
