Hedwig (Mitchell), a gender queer punk rock singer from East Berlin, tours the US with her band, the Angry Inch, shadowing the tour of arena rock star Tommy Gnosis (Michael Pitt), her former lover and protégé who stole her songs, and tells the story of her life and botched sex reassignment surgery to escape East Berlin with Tommy, immediately before the Berlin Wall fell and Tommy left her. Shot on location in Toronto, Canada. Red titled wrappers, with credits for screenwriter John Cameron Mitchell.
