Signed by the previous owners to the front paste down and preface page of Domestic Economy and the front free endpaper of Breakfast Dishes. Small bookseller's stamp to the front paste down of Sweets & Supper Dishes. The rear endpaper and paste down of Domestic Economy is also annotated. Externally, generally smart with light to moderate bumping and rubbing, leading to slight fraying and loss of cloth at spine heads and tails, especially to The Pot-Luck Cookery Book. Light marking to boards, again more noticable to The Pot-Luck Cookery Book. Internally, relatively weak, with fragile hinges, most significantly to Nelson's Home Comforts, where the endpapers have been reinforced with tape, and to The Pot-Luck Cookery Book, where the front cover is very delicate and almost loose. Chip to the title page of Breakfast Dishes. Light sporadic spotting throughout, heavier to the first and last few pages of each volume, and a more sizeable mark to the last few pages of The Pot-Luck Cookery Book, extending through the second half of the book. [John William Fozard 1928 - 1996] Sir Sydney Camm, CBE, FRAeS (5 August 1893 - 12 March 1966) was an English aeronautical engineer who contributed to many Hawker aircraft designs, from the biplanes of the 1920s to jet fighters. Contains 258 printed pages of text with monochrome illustrations and archive photographs throughout. Camm was President of the Royal Aeronautical Society(RAeS) from 1954 to 1955. Sin…ce 1971 the RAeS has held the biennial Sir Sydney Camm Lecture in June, given by the current commander-in-chief of RAF Air Command. He retired as chief designer at Hawker in 1965 and was succeeded by the editor of this book, John W. Fozard, however, he remained on the board of its successor, Hawker Siddeley until his death. Before he died, Camm was planning the design of an aircraft to travel at Mach 4, having begun his life in aircraft design with the building of a man-carrying glider in 1912, just nine years after the first powered flight. In 1966, he was awarded the Guggenheim Gold Medal, which had to be presented posthumously. Fine condition book in Fine condition dust wrapper. SIGNED by the author and Ralph Hooper [Harrier] to a fellow designer to the title page 'For Harry Frazer-Mitchell - Longtime and valued member of the design team in Jump - Jet alley, With all good wishes and warmest regards John W. Fozard, January 1994', also SIGNED 'Ralph Hooper'. Loosely enclosed is a signed pristine signature penned in blue fountain ink on a 5.75 x 2.5 inch custom made white collectors card SIGNED 'S.
