It has its dustwrapper, but unfortunately most of the very delicate spine has crumbled away. Nevertheless it is lovely to se…e what this 1st edition looks like with d/w, as I havent seen it before - it so rarely is found. As can be seen in the picture on abe and our own site (when the pictures arrive) that it is chipped at the edges; the design is in lilac/white and tan; It bears no resemblance to the bright red one on the cheap edition that came out shortly afterwards; the book is a nice clean copy; the illustration on the endpapers has a lilac background; it also has matching lettering on the title page in lilac, as is the lettering on the half title page; a scarcer title in the Lockett children series; Lockett Children; 8vo 8" - 9" tall. A very good copy, the binding square and firm, the boards gently bumped to the bottom corners and the cloth a little faded to the spine and edges…. The contents, with some spotting to the text block edges, are otherwise clean throughout and without stamps or inscriptions. Complete with the good original dustwrapper that is chipped with loss to the ends of the slightly darkned spine and spotted to the panels. Not price clipped (8s 6d net to the front flap).
