SIGNED by both Rigby Graham and Michael Bown on the colophon pages. As new. Signed by Illustrator(s).

Number '39' of only sixty copies ('which was the number of prints available for pages 19 and 27'). The BOOK is in Fine condition and appears unread. Free from inscription and erasures. Housed in the original publisher's plain grey slipcase which is in Fine condition. Signed by Rigby Graham to the limitation page , who has additionally signed and numbered two tipped-in prints as issued. Profusely illustrated in B/W and colour throughout. Loosely inserted is the publisher's 4 page prospectus with a loose sample of the decorated end-paper design. A very handsome production and increasingly elusive. More images available on request. 37/49 COPIES (from an overall edition of 60) signed by the artist, text from Walbaum type, numerous woodcuts printed from the original blocks, many full-page and in colour, a few on contrasting paper stock, pp. 88 [vi], original mauve cloth, boards printed with repeated block design in stripes of green and red, publisher's grey card slipcase, fine. An extraordinary, beautifully printed edition from Hans van Eijk capturing the vibrant, often totemic qualities of Graham's illustrations, despite the fact that many of the original blocks were 'cracked, warped and worm-eaten.'
