La obra apareció en Zaragoza en 1752 en dos volúmenes; las ediciones posteriores se imprimieron, entre otros lugares, en Madrid en 1761, 1769 y años sucesivos. Primera edición española de las célebres instrucciones pastorales de Prospero Lambertini, arzobispo de Bolonia entre 1731 y 1740 y posteriormente papa con el nombre de Benedicto XIV. La obra recoge las disposiciones y orientaciones que Lambertini dirigió al clero y a los responsables eclesiásticos de su diócesis sobre numerosos aspectos de la disciplina y práctica de la Iglesia: administración parroquial, sacramentos, culto, predicación, ceremonias, festividades, obligaciones del clero, cofradías, campanas, entierros, sufragios, costumbres religiosas y organización diocesana. Se caracteriza por combinar la normativa canónica con abundantes referencias históricas, patrísticas y conciliares, ofreciendo un amplio panorama de la disciplina eclesiástica del siglo XVIII. La traducción castellana fue realizada por el agustino Juan Facundo Raulin, exgeneral de la Orden de San Agustín. Esta edición zaragozana de 1752 precede a las conocidas impresiones madrileñas de Joaquín Ibarra y otros impresores, lo que le confiere especial interés bibliográfico dentro de la literatura religiosa española del Setecientos. Estado aceptable para un ejemplar del siglo XVIII, con defectos de uso y antigüedad claramente apreciables. Pergamino original amarilleado, ondulado y con suciedad superficial, manchas, roces y pequeñas pérdidas en bordes y extremos del lomo; cierres de piel incompletos. Encuadernación fatigada y algo deformada, aunque mantiene unido el volumen. Guardas y primeras hojas con arrugas, manchas, pequeñas roturas, pérdidas marginales y antiguos remiendos. Portada con suciedad y algunas pérdidas marginales sin afectar de forma sustancial al texto ni al grabado. Interior con tostado general, algunas manchas y puntos de oxidación, pequeñas roturas y pérdidas marginales ocasionales; se observan asimismo señales de uso y alguna humedad antigua. El cuerpo del texto permanece en general legible y suficientemente firme. Procedencia conventual especialmente interesante: anotaciones manuscritas de propiedad que indican «Es de los PP. Capuchinos de Albalate» y, en la portada, «Es de los Capuchinos del Convento de Albalate…», probablemente referido al convento de Albalate del Arzobispo (Teruel).…

Segundo tomo de las instrucciones pastorales redactadas por Próspero Lambertini durante su etapa como arzobispo de Bolonia, antes de acceder al pontificado con el nombre de Benedicto XIV. Reúne una extensa serie de instrucciones dirigidas al clero acerca del gobierno pastoral, la disciplina eclesiástica, la administración de sacramentos, la predicación, la celebración litúrgica, las obligaciones de sacerdotes y párrocos y distintos problemas prácticos de la vida religiosa y social. El texto combina doctrina canónica y moral con abundantes referencias a las Escrituras, los Padres de la Iglesia, concilios, decretos pontificios y ejemplos históricos, ofreciendo un importante testimonio del pensamiento pastoral católico de la primera mitad del siglo XVIII. Lambertini fue uno de los pontífices más eruditos de su época y sus instrucciones boloñesas alcanzaron una notable difusión, con sucesivas ediciones españolas durante todo el siglo XVIII. La presente edición zaragozana de 1753 es sensiblemente anterior a otras impresiones españolas conocidas de 1761, 1769, 1787 y 1790. El volumen concluye en la p. 472 con una carta fechada en 1727. Pergamino de época, con título manuscrito en el lomo y restos de cierres de cordón Ejemplar en estado aceptable para su antigüedad. Encuadernación original en pergamino con notable suciedad, oscurecimiento, manchas, arrugas y deformaciones propias del material; pequeñas pérdidas y roces en bordes y extremos, conservándose restos de los antiguos cierres. Lomo con título manuscrito parcialmente desvaído. Cuerpo del volumen firme en términos generales, aunque con alguna debilidad en las guardas y primeras hojas. Papel con tostado irregular, manchas y puntos de oxidación; algunas hojas presentan arrugas, dobleces, pequeñas rasgaduras y pérdidas marginales. Una de las hojas preliminares presenta una pérdida amplia en el margen inferior, sin afectar al texto principal de la obra. Texto interior generalmente completo, limpio y perfectamente legible Interesante procedencia conventual: anotación manuscrita de época en la portada: «Es del Convento [de] Capuchinos de Albalate», probablemente referida al convento capuchino de Albalate del Arzobispo (Teruel). Presenta además antiguas anotaciones y tachaduras manuscritas en hojas preliminares.…
