First edition. A presentation copy inscribed and signed by the author Milo E. Benedict to Ruth Earline Whittier (1903-1991) on the front endpaper with a quote from Cicero "Memory is the Treasury and quardian of all things". The author, a student of Liszt, writes about musical celebrities he has encountered, including Liszt, Anton Rubinstein, Hans von Bulow, Edward MacDowell and Gladys Fogg Benedict, among others.
