Single line gilt border to front and rear panels. Spine bands and panel edges somewhat dulled and rubbed as with age. Marbled endpapers. Internally, pages are particularly clean… considering the age of the volumes. Previous owner's inscription, dated 1790, to ffep. Remains quite well-preserved overall. A perfectly serviceable reference copy; nothing fancy, but complete and sturdy, being a bound collection of seven (7) Dublin, Ireland-based plays of classic and redone, again-performed plays. Bound in early calf leather with spine label reading "Select Tragedies," though rubbed, and…with gilt-stamped bands. Tips bent slightly, one scuffed to boards. Binding slightly dry, splitting to gutter to first paste-down, but yet fully intact and stands easily by itself on the shelf. Removed bookplate inside front flap, owner marks there now, occasional annotations, slight, gentle toning, some leaves are creased a bit and/or are lightly soiled, several small tears to pages, but again, overall Good condition, and it looks great on the shelf.
