Sturdy, attractive, tightly bound, internally clean hardcover copy, with unbruised tips, neat and tidy paste-downs; not ex-library, with neither highlighting nor underlining. Compiled by Dora Amsden in collaboration with John Stewart Happer, and then illustrated with prints from the Happer Collection. Quite handsomely rebound in textured paper over spine, stamped lettering to cover and spine, and with lovely, textured endpapers front and rear. Interior else clean, pages toned, text unmarked. Published in First Edition state by Paul Elder (1912), San Francisco. viii of frontis matter, and then 84 pp., including an index and full bibliography, plus 16 full-page monochrome illustrations, including at frontis, being "The Moonlit Saru Hashi" (Monkey Bridge). Printed at the Tomoye Press under the direction of John Swart, type hand-set by William Albert Johns, and the plates are quite lovely. Fore-edges being uncut, as each leaf has been folded and then loose edges bound in. Else and withal, quite a lovely item.Member, I.O.B.A., C.B.A., and adherent to the highest ethical standards. Additional postage may be required for oversize or especially heavy volumes, and for sets.

Hardcover. Zustand: Good. Hardcover. Stab binding with brown cloth over boards. Brown lettering and decoration, and a brown braided string sewn through the binding. No date on the title page. The copyright date is 1905. 73 pages. The pages, oddly, are tissue-paper thin, and look almost as though they've been split. Each page has only one side, with the blank sides of each page touching but not connected. This has either been done deliberately or as a publishing error; it does not look as if it was done after the book was printed. The covers are rubbed and toned, the corners bumped and rubbed. The boards are showing through the corners. One of the pieces of the braided cloth of the binding is broken off where it goes through the binding. The pages inside are toned but unmarked, and a few of the black and white plates near the front are no longer connected and are laid into the pages instead. The plates further into the book are still firmly bound into the rest of the pages.
