Da Farigliano sino quasi ad Asti l'avifauna stanziale e di passo della valle del fiume Tanaro è stata indagata dagli autori per vent'anni. L'abbondante mèsse di dati raccolta e le fotografie scattate costituiscono l'essenza più importante del volume Gli Uccelli della Valle Tanaro, realizzazione editoriale dalla bella veste grafica. In apertura vengono illustrate le caratteristiche dell'ecosistema fluviale e dell'adiacente ambiente agricolo, poi vengono analizzati i rapporti fra le varie colture agrarie e gli uccelli che le frequentano. Completa la parte introduttiva un'analisi storico-bibliografica dell'avifauna presente nel territorio in esame. Seguono le schede degli uccelli più significativi, corredate di molte informazioni sulla specie, ma anche di preziose osservazioni raccolte sul campo, nonché foto originali. La parte finale è dedicata al fenomeno migratorio lungo la Valle Tanaro, ad una approfondita discussione sulle tematiche di conservazione e alla checklist, aggiornata al momento della pubblicazione, delle 226 specie note per il territorio considerato. From Farigliano to almost Asti, the avifauna of the Tanaro river valley has been investigated by the authors for twenty years. The abundant harvest of data collected and the photographs taken constitute the most important essence of the volume "The Birds of the Tanaro Valley", an editorial production with a beautiful graphic layout. At the beginning, the characteristics of the river ecosystem and the adjacent agricultural environment are illustrated, then the relationships between the various agricultural crops and the birds that frequent them are analyzed. The introductory part is completed by a historical-bibliographic analysis of the avifauna present in the area. The species chapters contribute the main part of the book, accompanied by a lot of information on the species, but also by valuable observations collected in the field, as well as original photos. The final part is dedicated to the migratory phenomenon along the Tanaro Valley, to an in-depth discussion on conservation issues and to the checklist, updated at the time of publication, of the 226 species known for the territory in question.
