From Farigliano to almost Asti, the avifauna of the Tanaro river valley has been investigated by the authors for twenty years. The abundant harvest of data collected and the photographs taken constitute the most important essence of the volume "The Birds of the Tanaro Valley", an editorial production with a beautiful graphic layout. At the beginning, the characteristics of the river ecosystem and the adjacent agricultural environment are illustrated, then the relationships between the various agricultural crops and the birds that frequent them are analyzed. The introductory part is completed by a historical-bibliographic analysis of the avifauna present in the area. The species chapters contribute the main part of the book, accompanied by a lot of information on the species, but also by valuable observations collected in the field, as well as original photos. The final part is dedicated to the migratory phenomenon along the Tanaro Valley, to an in-depth discussion on conservation issues and to the checklist, updated at the time of publication, of the 226 species known for the territory in question. Indications de l'artiste en vue de la publication, inscrites au verso. Magnifique réalisation par cet illustrat…eur et dessinateur de bande dessinées, qui travailla durant les années 1950 et 1960 pour France-Soir, Ici-Paris et une foultitude de magazines et journaux. Il réalisa aussi de très nombreuses illustrations de livres, notamment pour les Editions Gauthier-Languereau. L'oeuvre n'est pas signée mais elle provient de l'atelier de l'artiste. Il y a quelques années la presque totalité de ses oeuvres furent vendus par un brocanteur au marché de la Place d'Aligre à Paris.
