First edition of this hommage in Latin verse of the life and miracles performed by St Benedict (480-547), founder of the great Benedictine Monastery of Monte Cassino, superbly illustrated with engravings by Aliprando Caprioli after designs of the prominent Roman Baroque painter Bernardino Passeri (1530-c1590). The dedication is to Odoardo Farnese, son of Cardinal Alessandro Farnese.
