Félix Danvin war ein französischer Landschaftsmaler, er besuchte die École des Beaux-Arts und studierte bei Guérin, Lethière, Watelet und Rémond. Er stellte ab 1831 im Salon aus; vorzugsweise schuf er Ansichten aus der Normandie, der Bretagne etc. Seine Darstellung des Seineufers am Château Gaillard in Les Andelys befindet sich im Musée Fabre in Montpellier, ein Gemälde, das den Mont Saint-Michel zeigt, im Musée des Beaux-Arts de Nancy. Verbreitet wurden seine Landschaftsbilder durch Stiche von Boys.Félix Danvin heiratete Constance Amélie Lambert (* 3. Mai 1810 in Lille; ? 18. Juli 1888), die ebenfalls Malerin war. Bilder von Constance Amélie Danvin waren in den Jahren 1844 bis 1848 im Pariser Salon zu sehen. Aus der Verbindung ging die Tochter Sophie hervor, die Musikerin wurde und später mit ihrem Gatten Max Kolb nach München zog. Baron Raglan, Oberbefehlshaber der britischen Truppen während des Krimkrieges. Nach einer militärischen Ausbildung nahm Constantin Guys bereits im Alter von 18 Jahren an den Griechischen Befreiungskriegen (1821-1829) teil und trat 1827 einem Dragonerregiment bei. Um 1830 gelang ihm sein künstlerischer Durchbruch, wobei er sich einen Namen als Zeichner der bürgerlichen Gesellschaft des französischen Zweiten Kaiserreiches machte, vor allem als Chronist des modernen Pariser Lebens. Anschließend folgten Reisen in den Orient und längere Aufenthalte in London und Paris, hier war er als Kriegszeichner und Korrespon-dent (u.a. während des Krimkrieges 1854-1856) für verschiedene englische (Illustrated Lon-don News) und französische Zeitungen tätig. In Paris, wo er sich 1860 niederließ, pflegte er freundschaftliche Verbindungen zu dem Schriftsteller Charles Baudelaire - der im übrigen Guys Werk in einem seiner wichtigsten Aufsätze 1863 besonders lobte -, zu dem Maler und Zeichner H. Daumier (1808-1879) und dem Fotografen, Schriftsteller und Zeichner F. Nadar (1820-1910). Bei einem tragischen Unfall im Jahr 1885 verlor er beide Beine und verbrachte die letzten Lebensjahre, wohl aus Armut, in einem Hospital.
