Some years ago, I began writing a blog in association with my competition barbecue team (The Memphis Barbecue Company - not to be confused with the Memphis Barbecue Company in Memphis which is a real barbecue restaurant). After publishing my first novel, Me, Boo and the Goob: A Southern Adventure, I continued my blogging in my own blog. Some of my blog entries are a mixture of truth, fiction, exaggerations and outright lies, but they present a reflection of the reality of a wonderful lifetime. While it can be said that not all of this stuff is completely true, it can not be said that any of it's spirit is false.At the suggestion of several readers, I have compiled my blog entries into a single volume. I hope they provoke in you thoughts and memories, smiles and laughter, and the occasional tear. In working on this volume, I have again been reminded of what a wonderful family I have, what an incredible life I have lived, and what amazing friends I have.Life has truly been good to me so far.

Moomaw. Published by Garner-Jones in 1918, the same year that the First World War ended. In the publisher's original paper wraps. In between his thought-provoking war poems that tackle imperialism, such as Borderlands, Kitchener of Khartoum and the Iron Cross, Moomaw also celebrates poet Edgar Allen Poe and Sidney Lanier.As You Were, a very scarce anthology written by American poet William H. Fulham, privately printed in 1920, two years following the First World War. In the original paper wraps. A collection of poems that focus on a soldier returning from the Western Front, including his love of France and his reaction upon returning home. Also includes a poem dedicated to war poet Rupert Brooke.Songs in the Darkness, a scarce anthology written and signed by Warrington writer Arthur Bennett, published by the local "Sunrise" Publishing Company in 1927. In the publisher's original purple cloth, with a frontispiece of the poet. Also includes an inserted obituary to the front paste down. An extensive set of poetry focused on the build-up and key events of the First World War. A cultural figure in his local Warrington, he was the local mayor in 1925 and 1926. In the publisher's original paper wraps (Borderlands) and (As You Were), in the publisher's original cloth (Darkness). Externally, mostly smart. Fading to the boards of Darkness, heavier to the spine. Slight rubbing to the spine and joints of Darkness, with minor bumping to the head and tail of the spine, and to the extremities. A small chip to bottom right corner of As You Were, with a closed tear near tail of front joint. The occasional small spot to wraps. Fading to the wraps of Borderlands, and signs of edge wear, with small chips to the extremities, and a clipped bottom right corner. Slight offsetting to end papers of Darkness. Poet's signed inscription to the front free end paper of Darkness. Clean endpapers to Borderlands, and slight spotting to As You Were end papers. Internally, firmly bound. Pages are bright and clean in Darkness and Borderlands, with slight spotting to leaf extremities of As You Were, heavier to leaves pp.29-35 and final leaf. Very Good.
