Jacket is slightly darkened at the spine and around the edges, else very good and better. Richard Stanley Clark was stationed at Pearl Harbor at the time it was attacked. After participating in many phases of the war, he contracted a lung complication while serving in the Admiralty Islands and received a medical discharge. The poems in this volume are not war poems. The title poem does concern itself with the attack on Pearly Harbor and subsequent naval events, but beyond that the book shows how a man of the sea returns home and rebuilds his life.
