Ein gutes und sauberes Exemplar. - The study analyzes the impact of voluntary synergy disclosures at the M&A announcement on M&A transactions in the European as well as in the US energy sector. Thereby, not only is the capital market perspective considered on both a long- and short-term horizon, but the operational point of view is also taken into account. The author shows, while utilizing the event study methodology, that capital markets attribute increased returns to those M&A transactions which expect synergy gains for both the US and European market. As the post-merger accounting study confirms the realization of these announced synergy gains, it may be inferred that capital markets do not overreact and management boards are not overconfident in realizing merger gains. Originalpappband. Zustand: Sehr gut. 214 S. This report is the culmination of a year-long research project carried out by the Popular Culture Research Center of the University of Social Sciences and Humanities in Warsaw for the Ministry of Culture and National Heritage under the leadership of Dr. Mirostaw Filiciak. The nine-person team of media studies experts, sociologists and anthropologists was tasked with illustrating the way in which new technologies are impacting the lives of young people in Poland. The project's key component was a two week period of ethnographic fieldwork carried out in August and September, during which researchers studied the lives of high school students in three Polish cities. During meetings, interviews, trips and parties, they met and spoke with 137 young people. The high school students showed the ethnographers their world and spoke about daily life in the era of digital media and networked communication. This report is structured around chapters which address key dimensions of these young people's daily lives: "Being Together," "Love," "Geeking Out," and "At School," as well as chapters which focus on analytical categories significant in understanding the cultural environment co-created by new media: "Intensity," "Technologies of Reflectivity," and "Sharing." Originalpappband. Zustand: Sehr gut. 120 S. Einband leicht berieben. - In the beginning of 2011 Unkonventionelle Betrachtungsweisen zur Wirtschaftskrise. Von Haien, Heuschrecken und anderem Getier (Unconventional Consideration Manners of the Economic Crisis I. From Sharks, Grasshoppers and other Creatures) was published, which explained aphoristically succinct aspects of the economic crisis. At the end of August, 2011, the second volume with the subtitle Illnesses of the Economic System and Possibilities and Limits of their Healing appeared in German, which analyses the traditional measures of the economic policy and exemplarily describes the economic case history of single countries. The result of these analyses was that the conventional economic policies only cured symptoms but aggravated even the fragility of the economic system. Therefore in this book (a little modified and actualised translation of the third volume published in German in 2012) unconventional solution possibilities of the financial and economic crisis are indicated, and are backed up ethically. Originalhardcover. Zustand: Sehr gut. 120 S. Ein gutes und sauberes Exemplar. - This book is based on the results of about forty years of work with one type of analysis of musical communication. It offers an elucidation of the meaning of music as, in addition to other factors, a fictive action and refers to the context of the intrapersonal, interpersonal and social aspects of communication. It does so against the background of the nearly unknown century-long history of Czech experimental aesthetics. At the same time it provides insights into a field of the humanities in the totalitarian era by referring to the roots of the method in the context of semiotics, aesthetics and cybernetics in the 1960s. Originalbroschur. Zustand: Sehr gut. 209 S. Ein gutes und sauberes Exemplar. - This book presents an empirical approach to virtual communication. Based on the socio-cultural arguments of the postmodern paradigm, it demonstrates the necessity of analyzing the media pedagogy concept, both epistemologically and praxiologically. The concept of media competency is made operational by creating a system of communicational and informational competencies specific to the teaching personnel. To this end, the Mixed Standard Rating Scale is elaborated to rate and assess the media competencies of the secondary education teaching personnel. We have also proposed long life training programmes in the field of media pedagogy. These might be the answers identified against the challenges of virtuality as a mediatic and informational pressure. ISBN 9783631652572 Sprache: Englisch Gewicht in Gramm: 279.

Given the fact that the copying itself, whether in a private use context or a piracy context, is physically the same, it is very easy to confuse private copying with piracy. However, private use serves an important role not only relating to users fundamental rights such as free speech and the right of autonomy and privacy, but also in contributing to the creative process by fostering creativity-relevant human capital. This book critically evaluates the legal treatment of private use under Chinese digital copyright law, which provides overprotection for Technological Protection Measures (TPMs) and abandons the private use limitation on digital copyright. It also examines the underlying causes and possible solutions. ISBN 9783631641880 Sprache: Englisch Gewicht in Gramm: 360.

Originalbroschur. Zustand: Gut. XV, 215 S. Ein gutes und sauberes Exemplar. - This book is a literary and cultural investigation of the different levels of identity as revealed in German films on and about Africa. Taking sexual, spatial, linguistic and body identities as its core concern, the book elucidates how the contemporary German film narratives on Africa binarize bordeline cultural and geographical identities. While this binarism assigns the metropolitan status to the German, the African is relegated to the margins in the human socio-geocultural aspects. The book contradicts this kind of binary narration as it argues that trans-border identities are fraught with complexities that cannot be simply straitjacketed. It celebrates those moments where the narratives challenge the existing boundaries at the interstice between the North and the South. It further celebrates the moments where the film narratives recognize the complexity of cultures by acknowledging the disruptiveness and continuities of linguistic, cultural, sexual, spatial and body identities especially at the contact zone of Germany and Africa. The book deals with Israeli citizenship and identity, and examines the ways in which it is being understood and imagined by ACJS students and teachers. The book also analyzes the Orange Zionist organizational culture of the ACJS.
