A scarce topographical poem on Bristol, anonymously published. In this copy, the author can be identified from a pencil note to the dedication leaf (the book is dedicated to John Scandrett Barford of Blaise Castle), which names him as Henry Brewer, adding that he 'married one of the Daughters of the late Wm Burrows of Lembeth & died at Bristol in 1835. Presented to me by his Widow 30th May 1838. F.C.' The poem covers the history of Bristol from earliest times to the 'disgraceful riots of 1831', and concludes that Bristol as a whole is unequalled except by London.
