Neuware -Seminar paper from the year 1999 in the subject Communications - Movies and Television, grade: 1- (A-), Ohio University (School of Telecommunication), course: Cable Communications, language: English, abstract: MTV ¿ an ¿all encompassing mediator of popular culture¿ (Goodwin, 1992) or as the Washington Post once put it ¿perhaps the most influential single cultural product of the [eighties]¿ (McGrath 1996, p. 8). A trademark that has become a synonym for modern television, fast moving pictures and even a certain lifestyle. ¿MTV generation¿, ¿MTV-like¿, ¿I want my MTV¿ etc.But MTV is more than entertainment for teenagers and music with colorful pictures around it ¿ It is not only the world¿s fastest growing network but also a powerful gatekeeper. It influenced traditional cable television and revolutionized the advertising industry. Whoever makes it onto the playlist of the network can expect his CD sales to skyrocket and his concerts to be sold out. With thousands of bands releasing hundreds of records each year, of course some kind of selection process has to take place. But who makes these decisions What role does the record industry play What are the criteria for a successful (and suitable) video that airs on MTV Is MTV making its own rules or are there also pressures on the network from the outside This paper tries to find some answers to these and other questions about the exciting and influential cable network. Its role as an powerful gatekeeper for the multi-million music industry will be examined as well as its strong influence on the content of songs and video clips. Many has been written about MTV, so finding appropriate literature wasn¿t really a problem, although not all of it was always up-to-date. Unfortunately I wasn¿t able to get in contact with some MTV executives. In the last chapter, however, an interview with radio veteran Dave Robbins from CBS Columbus can be found, who has some interesting views on the cable network. One should nonetheless bear in mind that he is more or less sitting on the other side of the table and works for the competition.BoD - Books on Demand, In de Tarpen 42, 22848 Norderstedt 20 pp. Englisch.

Neuware -Seminar paper from the year 2006 in the subject English Language and Literature Studies - Literature, grade: A, University of Massachusetts - Amherst (English Department ), course: Major British Writers - Proseminar II, language: English, abstract: Mary Wollenstonecraft Shelley is one of the major representatives of the Romanticism movement of the late eighteenth and early nineteenth century. In 1816, when Shelley wrote her first and most popular work 'Frankenstein or the Modern Prometheus', the Industrial Revolution had just begun. New inventions were made and the world as it was known changed rapidly. In her novel Shelley takes on the idea of the damage this quick and unfamiliar progress could do. Victor Frankenstein, the main character of the novel, attempts to triumph over nature in that he tries to bring something inanimate to life. He successfully creates a living being but the creature turns against his creator and destroys Frankenstein¿s life. The creature has no name and it is unclear whether it should be seen as a monster or as a human being. In 'Frankenstein' Mary Shelley contrasts the beauty and serenity of nature to the destroying powers that can be released when meddling with scientific progress. Her themes fit well into the ideas of the Romantic poets: she understands the importance of the state of childhood and also focuses on nature as a counterpart to the progress and destruction of Industrialism and progress. Like her contemporaries she tries to further the idea of going back to nature and a childlike state of imagination instead of destroying lives by opposing the course of nature. This paper discusses how nature, childhood, knowledge, and progress work together and how Shelley explores each of them in her novel.BoD - Books on Demand, In de Tarpen 42, 22848 Norderstedt 20 pp. Englisch.

Neuware -Seminar paper from the year 2005 in the subject American Studies - Linguistics, grade: 1,7, University of Wuppertal, course: African American Culture as Resistance, language: English, abstract: In 1619 the first Black People were violently taken to Virginia, United States. Many more Blacks were to follow and hence had to work as slaves on the plantations in the south, fueling the trade of an emerging economic power. Families and friends were separated and people from different regions who spoke different African dialects were grouped together. This was to make sure that no communication in their respective native languages would take place in order to prevent mutinies. Thus the Africans had to learn the language of their new surroundings, namely English. Today the English of the Blacks in America is distinguishable as African American Vernacular English (AAVE). AAVE and American White Southern English (AWSE) were very similar in colonial times, and according to Feagin1 AWSE still has features of AAVE, such as the non-rhoticism and falsetto pitch2, which is supposed to add to the apparent musicality of both AAVE and AWSE today. Many commonalities can be attributed to the coexistence of the two cultures for almost 200 years, while many differences are claimed to be due to segregation. Crystal claims that first forms of Pidgin English spoken by Africans already emerged during the journey on the slave ships, where communication was also made difficult due to the grouping of different dialects in order to prevent mutiny. The slave traders who often spoken English had already shaped the new pidgin languages on the ships and helped shape a creole that was to be established in the Carribean colonies as well southern US colonies in the 17th century.BoD - Books on Demand, In de Tarpen 42, 22848 Norderstedt 16 pp. Englisch.

Neuware -Seminar paper from the year 2005 in the subject English Language and Literature Studies - Literature, grade: 2,7, University of Stuttgart (Anglistik), course: Critical Idioms ¿ Allegory, language: English, abstract: The industrialization in England, started in the eighteenth and continued in the nineteenth century. It caused a radical change to working habits and ways of life. Especially to the majority of the people which now is spending most of its time in factories, getting only few amounts of money, just enough to earn its living. The invention of the steam engine and automated production processes, along with an immense population growth, caused a considerable accumulation of people close to industrial locations. This labour surplus lead to low salaries, because of too much supply of workers and too less demand of workers. That constellation gave a lot of power to a few people, those people that owned the factories and industrial complexes. In short, the employers, which where homo ökonomici had only profit in their minds. At these times we are far away from social services or standard wages. These circumstances lead to serious problems among the working class, which had been the majority. They lived in bad conditions in a polluted surrounding, dirty streets and a filthy environment. Leisure time was not known. Life mainly consists of working, eating and sleeping. In these times, where structural change in all aspects of life took or had taken place, Charles Dickens grew up among the most intensive stage of England¿s industrialization. Growing older and becoming a writer, he refuses the money making and profit orientated society more and more. This critical attitude to people¿s pursuit of money utters itself in his novel ¿Hard Times¿, that he wrote in 1854. In this novel he blames the social differences in the then-society and in the then-life in a satiric and as well melodramatic way. The novel on the one hand shows the struggle of the factory workers and lower class people in everyday life, on the other hand the struggle for social status, etiquette, money and power of the middle and higher class, which is represented in ¿Hard Times¿ by Mr Bounderby, the Gradgrind family, Mrs Sparsit and others. The lower poor working class consists of the characters of Stephen Blackpool, his friend Rachel, the circus members, the Union, and others. Not to forget Sissy, which is adopted by the Gradgrinds out of her low poor status into a higher class.BoD - Books on Demand, In de Tarpen 42, 22848 Norderstedt 16 pp. Englisch.

They are usually used in order to make the interlocutor see one¿s current relationship and attitude towards the state of the discourse. Neuware -Seminar paper from the year 2004 in the subject American Studies - Literature, grade: 1, Free University of Berlin (John-F.-Kennedy Institut), language: English, abstract: Much has been written about the homosexual and political playwright Tony Kushner. Interestingly, not so much has been said about his Jewish background and its impact on his dramatic work. Especially, his most acknowledged play 'Angels in America ¿ A Gay Fantasia on National Themes' which is mainly set in New York City 'this strange place, in the melting pot where nothing melted' as Rabbi Isidor Chemelwitz observes in the first scene of 'Millennium Approaches', is highly concerned with Judaism in general and American Jewry in particular. Naturally, different readings of Kushner's two-part play are possible. Nevertheless, it is crucial to reveal and analyze the importance of the Jewish tone and setting in 'Angels in America' to fully understand Kushner's complex work. Kushner picks out the topic of religion and traditional heritage in our secular, modern world as one of his central themes. As Hilary de Vries wrote in her Chicago Tribune critique, 'Kushner credits much of his interest in religion to his family background as part of the little known but thriving Jewish community in [Lake Charles] Louisiana.' When Kushner moved to New York City in 1974, the Jewish population of the city was over one million making it the largest Jewish community in the world. Even though 'Kushner struggles with an ambivalence toward Judaism due to homophobic traditions within his faith,' as James Fisher stated, he nevertheless strongly connects to his own Eastern European roots. Kushner's ambivalence is that of American Jewry in general, being torn between the modern, secular society and historical ties to ethnic and religious identity. This dilemma is put forward through the play's fine-nuanced Jewish characters. Furthermore, the play circles around general religious allegories, which origins can be traced back to writings of Judaism, such as the Old Testament and the Kabbalah, as well as to Christian traditions.Books on Demand GmbH, Überseering 33, 22297 Hamburg 20 pp. Englisch.

Since then the political leaders of Tatarstan have pursued a self-conscious, but moderate national policy within the Russian Federation that has become a leading example for many other national republics. A constitutional guarantee of the sovereignty by the RF as envisaged by Tatarstan would officially bring to an end some 450 years of Russian domination of the Tatars and their country: a situation that could at best be compared with first attempts of independent statehood that followed the Revolution. Is this, then, the story of a nation that at last is peacefully liberating itself from the Russian yoke that for centuries had threatened to bring indigenous national integrity to its knees How severe was the damage done to the Volga Tatars, and has it been repaired To answer these questions, the essay considers first of all two early phases of independent statehood and thereby comes to a general understanding of the term 'Volga Tatars'. Secondly, it distinguishes several phases of Russian domination and discusses their respective effects on the Volga Tatars. Special attention will be devoted to the Soviet period, so that finally an assessment of the national efforts in the 1990s can be made.BoD - Books on Demand, In de Tarpen 42, 22848 Norderstedt 16 pp. Englisch.

Within a few years the ¿mighty¿ Soviet Union fell back from a major power to a third world economy, dealing with problems like mass poverty and epidemics. In light of these disastrous outcomes the question of what ¿went right¿ during the transition process seems to be even more appropriate then the question of what ¿went wrong¿. However, while it seems to be obvious that the stabilization and liberalization attempts by the Russian government predominantly failed, privatization, the third core facet of transition1 , ¿has been touted as a one of the major successes of the Russian government¿s economic transformation policy. By the beginning of 1996 77.2% of medium-size and large enterprises had been privatised, accounting for 88.3% of total industrial output.¿2 On the one hand, according to the Russian government¿s Western advisers this privatization is the fastest inhuman history and ¿seems to be one of the few positive fruit of Russian economic policy since 1991¿3. On the other hand, a common point of view is that its implementation led to an unfair distribution of state assets and only benefited a minority of Russian population. This debate is going to be the main focus of this paper. By discussing the general importance of the private sector to a democracy, the aims of privatization, its subsequent reforms, and its results, I intend to assess the contribution of these reforms to the process of Russian democratization.Books on Demand GmbH, Überseering 33, 22297 Hamburg 20 pp. Englisch.

Small independent stores, restaurants and coffee bars have been replaced by stores of multinational companies, such as Tesco, McDonald¿s, Burgerking, Starbucks, H&M and The Gap. No matter if you are exploring the city centre of Leicester, London or Hamburg, you find more and more branches of large-scale business companies, attempting to attract consumers with their big, bright logos. The same process can be found in the media ¿ global brands such as Hewlett-Packard and Coca Cola advertise all around the globe, or in terms of Barnet et al (1995: p. 164): ¿Marlboro country is everywhere¿. While the unification of city centres has been much-discussed, further questions need to be elaborated on: In how far are these phenomena results of globalisation Which consequences do they have for life in Western societies Is there a global homogenisation of culture, and if so, to what extent Which role does advertising play in this process These and other questions are discussed in this paper.BoD - Books on Demand, In de Tarpen 42, 22848 Norderstedt 20 pp. Englisch.

Neuware -Essay from the year 2004 in the subject Politics - International Politics - General and Theories, grade: 2, University of Kent (Brussels School of International Studies), course: International Relations Theory, language: English, abstract: International regimes represent an integral part of globalisation and according to Little, the number of regimes increases steadily. Moreover, regimes account for a great deal of everyday convenience, ranging from seemingly simple practices like sending a letter abroad to the most complex economic interactions. In fact, ¿there is now no area of international intercourse devoid of regimes, where states are not circumscribed, to some extend or other, by the existence of mutually accepted sets of rules.¿Undisputedly, the realist paradigm dominates any debate in International Relations. ¿Realism has dominated international relations theory at least since World War II.¿ It is therefore obvious to begin the search for an explanation for the growing number of international regimes and states¿ willingness to participate in them within realism itself. Yet, how can realism, that regards states as sovereign units concerned primarily with their own security and survival in an anarchic international system, account for extensive cooperation in regimes In order to assess whether realism provides a suitable explanation for the obvious success of regimes, this essay shall compare the realist approach to the neo-liberal account of regimes. Although the existence of international regimes is acknowledged by neo-liberals and realists, the two groups have competing theories about the formation of those regimes.Having looked at these two different approaches to explain the existence of regimes, this essay shall argue that the notion of ¿self-interest¿ is, perhaps surprisingly, the very reason why states would want to participate in regimes and not at all an impediment, as the question suggests. However, the realist explanation of regimes does not stress the importance of states¿ self-interest as a cause for regime formation. It is the neo-liberal regime theory that holds that self-interest is a motive for states to cooperate in regimes. Hence, this essay will conclude that the realist theory does not provide an accurate account for the creation of regimes and their durability.Books on Demand GmbH, Überseering 33, 22297 Hamburg 16 pp. Englisch.

Neuware -Seminar paper from the year 2006 in the subject Politics - International Politics - Topic: Public International Law and Human Rights, grade: A-, Ryerson University, course: Diversity and Equity in the Public Sector, language: English, abstract: The German Anti-Discrimination Law of 2006-A small Step - ABSTRACT German parliament has passed a General Equal Treatment Act in 2006, and the implementation, ensued by controversial discussion, was mainly settled on because of pressure from the European Court of Justice. Generally, the law is intended to largely circumvent or abolish discrimination in most areas of public life. This paper is assessing the Act in the national, and international - mainly EU - context, as well as the main arguments of both proponents and opponents. It finds that most reasons against the Act can be refuted by arguments brought forward by proponents. In addition, the functionality of the Act is discussed, and some problems and backlashes are discovered, while the law itself is found to reveal gaps in terms of the scope of the legislation as well as the characteristics of discrimination. The Act is criticized as it mainly offers correctional measures against discrimination with hindsight, while being less likely to avert discrimination in the first place. The legislation is found to have potential to shift the common consciousness to acknowledging diversity as a motor for societal and economic progress, and, as it recognizes that discrimination is a systemic rather than an individual problem in Germany, it might render as a building block to fight discrimination and exclusion. However, despite the fact that the German legislation is more concise than the EU guideline, it is shown that the legal framework is only a first small step toward equal and fair treatment in Germany. The paper argues that protection against discrimination is a structural principle of human rights beyond formal equality, that cannot be secured by the Act alone, but which can only be reached through a broader supportive structure. It is argued that those supportive structures are still missing in Germany as the country lacks an anti-discrimination-culture as well as societal awareness, and is missing a comprehensive network of NGOs and government agencies to support discriminated people.Books on Demand GmbH, Überseering 33, 22297 Hamburg 20 pp. Englisch.

Neuware -Essay from the year 2003 in the subject Law - Comparative Legal Systems, Comparative Law, grade: 67%, Cardiff University (Großbritannien; Law School), course: Comparative Contract Law, language: English, abstract: The UNIDROIT Principles of International Commercial Contracts1 have been published in May 1994 by the Rome-based International Institute for the Unification of Private Law (UNIDROIT), an intergovernmental organisation established in 1926. The Working Group on the UNIDROIT Principles was found in 1980 and consisted of independent legal scholars of all major legal systems of the world. The UNIDROIT Principles are not binding law. Most legal writers agree that they can be characterised as a restatement of the law of international commercial contracts2 and despite the controversial issue about the very existence, scope and content of a lex mercatoria - the possibility of applying supranational law to international legal relationships- most authors agree that it exists and that the UNIDROIT Principles are a significant part of it3.The object of this paper is to examine the UNIDROIT Principles¿ approach to hardship laid down in Chapter 6, Section 2 and to compare it with its equivalent provision in the German Civil Code (Bürgerliches Gesetzbuch, hereinafter BGB), 3134. For this purpose it is firstly necessary to define the term ¿hardship¿. Thereafter I will consider the respective provisions in detail and highlight differences and similarities.Books on Demand GmbH, Überseering 33, 22297 Hamburg 20 pp. Englisch.

Neuware -Essay from the year 2002 in the subject Geography / Earth Science - Miscellaneous, grade: 1.1 (A), Oxford University (New College), language: English, abstract: Rev. Thomas Robert Malthus published his first Essay on the Principle of Population in 1798 in order to refute the views expressed by utopian writers and philosophers who believed that society could be reshaped in a new form which would lead to a better life for all. Malthus thought that this would never work simply because there would never be enough food to support an idealistic society. In his works Malthus set up laws about society based on past and present evidence and he tried to make future predictions of populations. Although his work has been very influential, it was his fate to frame an analysis of the relationship between population, economy and society during the last generation to which it was applicable. There have been many studies to show whether Malthus was correct for his time and some limitations of his writings have been pointed out. Some of the main limitations of his works are concerned with his views of non-modern Western and non-modern societies.Books on Demand GmbH, Überseering 33, 22297 Hamburg 16 pp. Englisch.

Neuware -Seminar paper from the year 2007 in the subject English Language and Literature Studies - Literature, grade: 1, University of Innsbruck (Department of English), course: The Irish Literary Revival, language: English, abstract: Love was one of William Butler Yeats¿s great inspirations. It was love that kept him moving and developing. It was love that confused him and made him reflect. It was love that shattered him and made him mourn. Yeats¿s experience with love was rich and fulfilling as well as frustrating and devastating. In order to come to a better understanding of Yeats¿s love poetry, we need to take a look into his private life:¿Yeats met the fiery revolutionary [Maud Gonne] in 1889. He fell deeply in love with her and would propose to her in 1891, 1899, 1900, 1901, and 1916. Gonne had no use for Yeats's proposals. However, she did have a use for his talents. Gonne would use Yeats for his ability as an orator. Maud Gonne, dragging him at her heels on nationalist agitations, soon found that he was a natural orator and could easily dominate committees. Maud Gonne would continue to turn Yeats proposals down, yet she continued to be the catalyst for the finest love poetry Yeats would ever create. Gonne would once ask for Yeats's help in London, ending a brief but happy love affair with Olivia Shakespear. Sensing divided loyalty, Shakespear would end the affair and it was shortly thereafter that Lady Gregory would save Yeats from a potentially more tragic end, like the poets of the tragic generation¿ (cf. nadn.navy).Yeats really loved Maud Gonne. She was the love of his life, and still, she would never really react to, let alone return his love. Yeats has experienced the many different facets of love through this continuous interaction between his everlasting true and sincere affection and dedication and her cold and calculating rejection. But although this may be a personal tragedy it also resulted in something positive and beautiful, namely Yeats¿s love poetry Maud Gonne inspired him to. Yeats managed to deal with all his positive and negative experiences in a productive way and included them into his poetry. Maud Gonne once even said to him that she could not stop rejecting him as he would not write such beautiful poetry about her anymore then.As said, Yeats¿s perception and concepts of love can be identified in his poetry. Furthermore, we can identify a development of Yeats¿s depiction of love in his poetry. We can find many different sides of love in Yeats¿s poems. In some poems, Yeats describes it as an almost divine power. In other poems, he starts doubting whether love is really that fulfilling or not. And in further poems, he even focuses on the dark and destructive sides of love. These different concepts of love will be described in this paper through the analysis of selected poems.BoD - Books on Demand, In de Tarpen 42, 22848 Norderstedt 16 pp. Englisch.

These groups are trained and supported by permanently employed editors. I will begin by describing the role of ¿Offener Kanal¿ for media educational work in general. Then I will give a more precise definition of media educational social work ¿ as a part of social work. I will conclude by determining whether the work of public access channels can be described as media educational social work and I will show the role that institutions like the ¿Offener Kanal¿ play for cooperative projects in the area of media educational social work.Books on Demand GmbH, Überseering 33, 22297 Hamburg 20 pp. Englisch.

Neuware -Seminar paper from the year 2001 in the subject Art - Painting, grade: 1 (A), Nelson Mandela Metropolitan University (Faculty of Arts), course: Course: South African Archaeology and Ethnöhistory (SA 301), language: English, abstract: One aspect of the wealth of material evidence left behind by the early people are the pictures in south african rock art. They occur in paintings and engravings. In 1996 the total number of sites in South Africa was estimated to be a little over 10 000 but the actual number of sites is significantly undercounted. It is still not known exactly when the artists started to make rock art, although new techniques of radiocarbon dating, using very small samples of paint, open the possibility of an absolute chronology. The oldest example of rock art in Africa was found in 1969 by Eric Wendt in the southern region of Namibia at a site called Apollo 11. After various datings, mainly with the radiocarbon method, archaeologists concluded that the rock art tradition in southern africa is at least 27 500 years old. In South Africa the oldest dated rock art is an engraving in the Northern Cape which was found on a small slab of dolomite at the Wonderwerk Cave south of Kuruman. It has a radiocarbon date of c.10 200 BP. Rock paintings are found in the mountainous parts of the subcontinent in abundant rock shelters and shallow overhangs, while engravings were generally made on the interior plateau of South Africa. There are about 1600 paintings in South Africa. In this assignment I will focus on the meaning of rock paintings, on the specific symbols and their importance for the early people. In Chapter Two, I provide a short introduction about the artists and their methods. Then I will explain the three important approaches to reveal the meaning of rock art described by Lewis - Williams and give some examples of misinterpretations of rock paintings. Chapter Three deals with the spiritual world and shamanism in the society of the Bushmen. In the fourth chapter the state of trance and the trance dance are described, which are important key parts for understanding rock art. Chapter Five shall point out the symbolism of the eland - antelope in addition to animal power in general. This symbol is of great importance and represented relatively frequent in the art. These symbols and the discussion of their meanings seem to be a representative selection, to help better understand the spiritual background of south african rock art and its meaning.BoD - Books on Demand, In de Tarpen 42, 22848 Norderstedt 16 pp. Englisch.

Neuware -Seminar paper from the year 2006 in the subject Orientalism / Sinology - Miscellaneous, grade: A+, , course: Geography of Korea, language: English, abstract: Due to the task of analyzing a popular Korean movie concerning the geographic aspects involved, the movie ¿Spring, Summer, Fall, Winter ¿ and Spring¿ directed by Ki-Duk Kim in 2003 was chosen. It is an interesting and convincing movie, also shown on international film festivals, which tells the story of the life of a Korean Buddhist monk from his early childhood to the late time of his life, as well as from his time as a novice to his own enlightenment as a master. The aim of this paper is to analyze the movie regarding geographical aspects and show the relation to the plot of the story. As this is a movie, which benefits from the impressing pictures of the nature that play a key role for the story, several aspects of geography can be displayed. As already mentioned in the title of the movie, there are five parts, which play a special role, each of them showing a different stage in the monks life and being an episode of the film. These five scenes will be analyzed individually and then all scenes will be compared in a conclusion, where also the main findings on the film and its geographic aspects will be indicated. The aspects concerning geography are predominantly the changing seasons, but there will also be some others, which will be introduced later on.Books on Demand GmbH, Überseering 33, 22297 Hamburg 20 pp. Englisch.

Although Sylvia falls in love with the bird hunter in the beginning and wants to impress him, she realizes the importance of protecting the environment around her from his influence. She does not give the secret of the bird away for the sake of love.Jewett shows in this story that Sylviäs world is disturbed by the appearance of the hunter. She lived happily with her grandmother in an exclusive paradise without men before. With the intrusion of the hunter in her familiar surroundings, everything changes. He is a threat to her peaceful existence and influences her future life and behaviour. This essay will show how Sylviäs attitude towards the hunter changes and how Jewett explores the sexual conflict between the two sexes in this story.BoD - Books on Demand, In de Tarpen 42, 22848 Norderstedt 16 pp. Englisch.

While speaking these words in his Belgian exile in 1942, Felix Nussbaum did not know that he had only two more years to live until the terror regime of National-Socialism would murder him and his wife, Felka Platek, in Auschwitz. Being only forty years of age when murdered, the artist seemed to have abandoned all hope after being forced to live in exile and under constant threat of discovery since 1933. Nevertheless, this personal hopelessness did not include the destiny of his artwork, for which Felix Nussbaum cared as long as possible.'The unpainted paintings of Felix Nussbaum demand nothing less than to become visible to the contemplating eye' and so Daniel Libeskind built a museum in Osnabrück to house the largest collection of Nussbaum¿s paintings as well as to create 'a profound place for the encounter of the future and the past and not only a testament to an impossible fate.' In July 1998, 54 years after Felix Nussbaum¿s deportation to Auschwitz, the museum opened its gates to the public.'The Museum without an Exit', as Daniel Libeskind coined his building, challenges the traditional idea of museums as ¿Temples of Contemplation.¿ Libeskind insists on emotional and physical experiences evoked when entering the museum¿s space. His difficult building does not allow visitors to be passive spectators, since the museum does not simply offer space for distributing works of art. Rather, Libeskind¿s building urges people to get closer to the experience of Felix Nussbaum and hence sets new standards in regard of museum-building.Books on Demand GmbH, Überseering 33, 22297 Hamburg 16 pp. Englisch.
