Taschenbuch. Zustand: Neu. Neuware - This book will bring forth a lot of tensions and issues we have had throughout history as a country and people. Stereotypes will be confronted and examined in a reflective and creative way. My hope through this book is to get down to the common humanity each of us have within each other, look at what safe actions we could take for everyone's well-being, and have a lens that is reflective of the very diverse citizens that occupy this nation. Regardless of political affiliation, our very safety should be prioritized over who we are voting for or not for an election. In addition, I do not condone violence. My books are for entertainment purposes. I hope that we all can use art as a tool of expression to demonstrate peace. This book is not real. The images are printed with ink, and you will still be alive after reading this piece of literary work. I just want to make sure that is known. Also, as an author, artist, creative, and entrepreneur of color, I am intentional of representation. Many popular superheroes of Caucasian descent already exist and have been dominant for a long period of time. In the world I live in there are a plethora of races represented and with those that read comics and there is a huge lack of representation. Marvel, DC, and Image have plenty to choose from that are popular. As such, it should be ok that I bring forth characters of color who are leaders, noble, and have high level powers and capabilities as well. We need a balance, and you already see men and women of color as gangsters, pimps, seductive/exotic women, drug dealers or those who are against the law. It's time to switch it up because that is not reflective of the majority, law abiding American citizens of color we are around every day.My characters in GHOATS and beyond have various sexual orientations, religious and spiritual beliefs, genders, neurotypes, special needs, and ethnic origins. All these categories and components each reflect the America we occupy today. Each of us matter and deserve to see representation in all facets and not just limited to stereotypes and imaging that does not celebrate who we are. The revolution won't be televised, It's in a comic book!Welcome to the Taureanverse.…

Taschenbuch. Zustand: Neu. Neuware - One of my favorite songs growing up was by a hip-hop artist named Ahmad called 'Back in The Day'. In the song, he references things he experienced growing up and the theme of the song is sometimes wishing he was a kid again. This book is something that I wanted to gather and compile all the works I created in the past and even present that I referenced popular characters and childhood TV shows from my childhood. As an artist, I have always, since a young age, wanted to capture culture and put an interesting spin on it.This collection spans from as early as 2008! I have really been working and putting in work! Also, you will see some pieces are more digital as I have worked on my design ability and wanted to showcase that side as well.My hope is that you can vibe with your pupils and enjoy this collection of art. This is not a drawing of this or a painting of that. I wanted to make art out of my childhood throughout the years with the piece having elements to hold its own vibration if hung or displayed online digitally.Thank you for your support in getting this book and I'm blessed to have you along this journey! So much is to come and I'm excited to share what's been on my mind and heart for more than 20 years.…

Taschenbuch. Zustand: Neu. Neuware - Basketball is something I've been a huge fan of as a child. My hoop dreams were cut extremely short when I tried out for the Middle School Team in Lacey, Washington. When I didn't even make the JV team and I was in the 'C' team that scrimmaged, my confidence in that area was shot!Today, I just big myself up in pickups with being the energy guy. I just like the intensity. I like that feeling of standing toe to toe. Often, people play with the mentality that they have everything to lose and everything about them is on the line. For me, I play with I have everything to gain and there's nothing for me to lose because I already have my confidence, and no one can take away my winning mindset even in a loss.On the other end, I am very happy for the success for the WNBA. As a man, I was always told I was weird for watching women's ball at the college and WNBA level. I loved the competition in the rivalries. I was watching women's college basketball since Diana Taurasi was at UConn. I'm old but not that old for the Sheryl Swoopes lol! Much respect to her but I was a little kid for those that laid the foundation in the inception of the WNBA.But, as an artist, I want to bring multiple concepts together as a hybrid and I'm keen on known nicknames or certain things that describe each person and visual I hope I accomplished that here. This is just the beginning. More players will be coming. I came here to change the game. I may not be the best at ball. But I'm going to the Naismith Hall of Fame as a visual artist!Let's get it.…

Taschenbuch. Zustand: Neu. Neuware - Before we jump into the second GHOATS issue, I would like to thank GOD for bringing you to this book! This idea literally started to take legs 7 months after the first issue published during election week 2024.At Taureanverse Comics, we believe in 'Comics for the Culture'. Although I am not versed or in the non-black ethnic groups of Asian, Latino, etc., from my upbringing as an army kid, I was exposed to so much culture. Currently, I do not have writers at this phase so please excuse the lack of depth to these characters. My goal is for you to see the intention and being genuine as I believe in racial equity for all people. As I continue to evolve, I want to give these characters life and stronger cultural authenticity.GHOATS #2 was not supposed to come out next. I had 'Heroes of Ministry' coming but decided to pull that until November 2025. What is currently happening in our country is overwhelming. This medium of comic books, and the concept of GHOATS is the perfect vehicle to execute my response.More amazingness Is to come. I'm blessed to be in this position, and I would like to also thank Curious Iguana in Frederick, Maryland for being the first bookstore to stock and sell my books! These first steps are exciting. Soon we will be in stores nationwide! This is just the beginning.…
