A first edition, limited issue, with this copy being no. 150 of 2,000 copies produced. In the publisher's original slip case, with price intact.Lawrence's 'The Mint' is a memoir of his experiences as an enlisted man in the Royal Air Force; working from a notebook he kept while enlisted, Lawrence wrote of the daily lives of fellow servicemen and about his feelings towards the RAF. Lawrence.Though noted as flawed by critics, this work is notable for its sharp observation and the insight it gives into Lawrence as a person, and for the censorship issues around its publication. With the bookplate of George Marten to the front pastedown.
