In the publisher's original cloth, with blind stamp detail. Contains a colour frontispiece, and all eleven other colour plates by W. Bagg. Collated complete. Contains original advertisements to the rear. A charming little work teaching beginners how to use microscopes, including preparing and mounting objects, as well as studying minature specimens and organs from both the plant and animal kingdoms. Griffith priorotises simple explanations over convaluted ones, making for an enjoyable read. In the publisher's original cloth, with blind stamp detail. Externally, mostly smart, with a couple of faint marks to boards, and slight rubbing to joints and edges. Bumping to the head and tail of the spine, and to the extremities, with minor loss to spine head and tail. End papers are bright and mostly clean with a couple of small spots. Previous owner's ink inscription to front pastedown and rear pastedown top edge. Minor wear to front end paper hinge. Internally, firmly bound.
