Paperback. Zustand: Good. Revelations: Truths Revealed In the early seventeenth century, the overall consensus was that the Earth was created in the year 4004 B.C. The Church explained away marine fossils, occasionally found high in the mountains, as the work of the devil, put there to test the believer's faith. This type of thinking went unchallenged until 1912, when Alfred Wegener proposed that not only was the earth much older but her continents actually drifted. This, of course, was immediately rejected by the scientific world. But his theories were given validation in the 1950's through the birth of a new branch of science called 'paleomagnetism'. Just in a matter of a few centuries the 'set-in-concrete' dates of earth's age has changed from thousands of years old to billions of years old. Unlike the people of the seventeenth century, we now know that marine fossils found high in the mountains is not the work of the devil placed there to test our faith, but the remains of life from an ancient time. Geologically speaking, the American Continent has been proven to be the oldest of the continents. It has also been determined that Ages ago; a portion of it sank beneath the waters of the Atlantic Ocean. North America was once connected to the western part of Africa; Nova Scotia (Canada) was adjacent to Morocco; and New Jersey was connected to the Western Sahara. During the Cretaceous Period, the lands of North America, Greenland and Europe were connected. The Colorado Sea covered most of central North America, stretching from Mexico into the Arctic. Cherokee tradition retains the memory of their people coming from the 'Old Red Land' that existed during the period when North America (Laurentia) collided with Northern Europe (Baltica) and formed 'The Old Red Sandstone Continent'. Hopi tradition calls this landmass, Turtle Island, describing it as having four arms, a head and tail. One arm is Baja; another is the Bay Area peninsula; another is Florida and the other long arm is Nova Scotia. The tail leads down to Central America and its head is the Bering Strait. As you read this book, you will also come to realize that unknown cultures with highly advanced scientific technology not only existed here but thrived with the help of the indigenous people. Academia pushes the theory that our ancient ancestors were an Unconnected people living throughout the four corners of the world, isolated and independent from each other. Evolution of their culture and scientific advancement was the result of time and chance opportunities. However, In Revelations: Truths Revealed, it becomes quite evident that our ancestors were all part of the same culture who shared idealism and common history. This author further submits that the world's indigenous population was controlled by empires of the same families. These Empirical families encompassed the four corners of the world through intimate communications and travel. For them, distance was no greater of an obstacle to their interaction than it is for us today. As time and the face of the earth went through her changes, many species of animal, plant, bird and races of man died out. Others adjusted to the new earth and evolved into the species we have today. Ancient texts, monuments, temple reliefs, artifacts, mythology, DNA and recessive genes lend evidence that other lost and unknown races existed in a Time now lost to us. They also support that races of Atlantean giants lived in North America. As thousands of earthen burial mounds attest, constant war against one another caused their numbers to diminish and the smaller, but more numerous races eventually subjugated them. It is my hope, through my writing of Revelations: Truths Revealed, that by learning the true history of our past, we will gain a better understanding of not only our ancestors but of our own true nature. Mary Sutherland.…

Hardback. Zustand: Good. Explores the historical roots of controversies over abortion, fetal personhood, miscarriage, and maternal mortality. On June 24, 2022, the US Supreme Court overturned the Roe v. Wade decision, asserting that the Constitution did not confer the right to abortion. This ruling, in the Dobbs v. Jackson Women's Health case, was the culmination of a half-century of pro-life activism promoting the idea that fetuses are people and therefore entitled to the rights and protections that the Constitution guarantees. But it was also the product of a much longer history of archaic ideas about the relationship between pregnant people and the fetuses they carry. In Policing Pregnant Bodies: From Ancient Greece to Post-Roe America, historian Kathleen M. Crowther discusses the deeply rooted medical and philosophical ideas that continue to reverberate in the politics of women's health and reproductive autonomy. From the idea that a detectable heartbeat is a sign of moral personhood to why infant and maternal mortality rates in the United States have risen as abortion restrictions have gained strength, this is a historically informed discussion of the politics of women's reproductive rights. Crowther explains why pro-life concern for fetuses has led not just to laws restricting or banning abortion but also to delaying or denying treatment to women for miscarriages as well as police investigations of miscarriages. She details the failure to implement policies that would actually improve the quality of infant life, such as guaranteed access to medical care, healthy food, safe housing, and paid maternity leave. We must understand the historical roots of these archaic ideas in order to critically engage with the current legal and political debates involving fetal life. …

Paperback. Zustand: Good. South America is still the least known continent in the world. Isolated for all of prehistory and much of its history, it is quite alien to the average European, Asian, or North American. Yet this continent witnessed the development of a series of cultures and of advanced civilizations which rival anything in Eurasia or Africa. Independently South American peoples invented agriculture and domesticated animals, pottery, elaborate architecture, and the arts of working metals. Tribes, chiefdoms, and immense conquest states rose, flourished, and disappeared leaving only their ruined monuments and broken artifacts as testimonials to past greatness. Ancient South America encompasses ten millennia of cultural development and diversity. Accessibly written and abundantly illustrated, this book will be enjoyed by students of archaeology, anthropology, and art history.…

Paperback. Zustand: Good. The Lost History of Ancient America presents new evidence of transoceanic visitors to America, hundreds, even thousands, of years before Christopher Columbus was born. Its 20 eminent contributors are experts in a variety of fields, from botany, biology, and prehistoric engineering to underwater archaeology, archaeo-astronomy, and Bronze Age warfare. In ancient times, the sea was not an impassable barrier separating our ancestors from the outside world, but a highway taking them to every corner of it. Never before and nowhere else has so much evidence proving the impact made on America by overseas visitors been assembled. You will learn about: A chain of stonewalls across southern Illinois that has stood for the last two millennia. A profusion of plants flourishing throughout the United States and Canada that originated more than 20 centuries ago. Underwater ruins recently found off the coast of Oregon. Bronze Age oil wells in Pennsylvania. And much, much more. The Lost History of Ancient America ends the debate between cultural diffusionists--who have always known that our ancient ancestors did not consider the sea an impassable barrier--and cultural isolationists, who have been equally certain that humans lacked the know-how and courage for global navigation until a little more than 500 years ago.&nbsp.…

Paperback. Zustand: Good. Does Colorado's Grand Canyon hide an ancient city found by a Smithsonian Institution photographer? Did the Vikings beat Columbus to the New World using a fiber-optic navigational instrument? Who built a colossal water reservoir in Iowa long before the first European settlers arrived? What secret have the Giants of the California Desert preserved for more than a thousand years? These are just some of the intriguing questions posed and answered by expert researchers in Unearthing Ancient America. They go on to tackle a broad variety of archaeological enigmas shunned as too heretical for consideration by conventional scholars--a Roman figurine found off the New Jersey coast, North African gold in Illinois from a long-vanished kingdom, an Egyptian knife removed from a centuries-old tree in California, a fifth century Christian church in Connecticut, a prehistoric harbor underwater in the Bahamas, Easter Island's cultural connections with pre-modern Japan, and voyagers to Maine from Stone Age Scotland. Unearthing Ancient America contains a wealth of fresh, occasionally suppressed evidence documenting the tremendous impact made on our continent by overseas visitors hundreds and even thousands of years before Columbus. The disclosures presented here re-write the prehistory of our country and provide a dramatic panorama of the past you never imagined before. The distinguished list of contributing writers to Unearthing Ancient America includes: Wayne May, founder and publisher of Ancient American magazineGunnar Thompson, PhD, author of American DiscoveryNobuhiro Yoshida, language professor from the University of KyushuWilliam Donato, the world's leading authority on the Bimini RoadDavid Hatcher Childress, founder of The World Explorers Club and head of Adventures Unlimited Press.…

Hardback. Zustand: Good. The fascinating story of a lost city and an unprecedented American civilization While Mayan and Aztec civilizations are widely known and documented, relatively few people are familiar with the largest prehistoric Native American city north of Mexico-a site that expert Timothy Pauketat brings vividly to life in this groundbreaking book. Almost a thousand years ago, a city flourished along the Mississippi River near what is now St. Louis. Built around a sprawling central plaza and known as Cahokia, the site has drawn the attention of generations of archaeologists, whose work produced evidence of complex celestial timepieces, feasts big enough to feed thousands, and disturbing signs of human sacrifice. Drawing on these fascinating finds, Cahokia presents a lively and astonishing narrative of prehistoric America.…

Paperback. Zustand: Fair. This book examines the development of the principal styles of ancient American architecture, sculpture, and painting until the end of the Aztec and Inca empires in the 16th century. The book tries to explain works of art as such, rather than dwelling upon those ideas about civilization which art is often made to illustrate in books of a more archaeological character. The book is arranged by geographical regions in three main divisions: Mexico, Central America and western South America. Architecture, sculpture and painting occupy most of the volume, but town planning, pottery, textiles and jewellery are also discussed. Many of the illustrations portray little known sites, buildings and objects.…

Paperback. Zustand: Good. The author of this book (Tim Ballard) is featured in the blockbuster new movie SOUND OF FREEDOM. If you are in favor of pedophilia in any way, do not buy this book On the other hand, if you believe that we are one nation under God and that our continued freedom requires us to serve God and obey His (Jesus Christ) commandments then this book is for you. The concept of what a covenant truly is and means is unfamiliar to most today, for it far surpasses any legal understandings or obligations with which our current culture is acquainted. God established a covenant with Abraham and his posterity, and the Bible recounts not only the duties but also the remarkable benefits produced by that mutual accord.Tim Ballard documents the 'extension' of that covenant re-invoked during the establishment of this nation. a covenant made between God and America's early colonists and Founders. 'The Covenant' not only shows the unprecedented blessings America has received as a result of obedience to God but also what every citizen today can do to honor our national covenant with God and thus ensure His continued blessings. David Barton, Distinguished Scholar of American History and bestselling author. Why did Christopher Columbus insist that an angel guided him at his moments of greatest distress? What prompted the original colonists to embrace the idea that the land of America was New Israel to them? What power urged Washington and his rag-tag army to successfully conquer the greatest military power on earth? What brought about the terrible national crisis that left our nation grieving, humbled, and repentant after the desolation of the Civil War? What is the secret behind this nation's unsurpassed record of prosperity, protection, and liberty? And what are the responsibilities and consequences incumbent upon a people so blessed? The answers to these, and many other questions relating to America's real national treasure are found in the pages of THE COVENANT. In his new book, author Timothy Ballard answers both HOW and WHY America's very existence stands in fulfillment of ancient biblical prophecy. Ballard's research takes his reader on a journey through American history that has rarely, if ever, been traveled before. THE COVENANT: America's Sacred and Immutable Connection to Ancient Israel sheds new light on the bloodline-inheritance the founders carried to America. To be certain, this book is not about America's ties to the modern Jewish State called Israel which was formed by U.N. edict in 1948, but rather, the text hearkens back to a period around 720 B.C. when the Northern Kingdom of ancient Israel (the Ten Tribes) was destroyed and carried away by the Assyrians to the North where they became lost as to their own identity and scattered among the lands and peoples of Western Europe, Great Britain, and Scandinavia. These people inherit through birth and bloodline, the right to invoke the Promises made to the Fathers. The very covenant was established by the Pilgrims 400 years ago at Plymouth in 1620 becomes the key to our success as a nation.God help us to not forget-in all our hubris and wealth-the true source of those blessings and protection we have enjoyed for so many years.…

Hardback. Zustand: Good. America began, we are often told, with the Founding Fathers, the men who waged a revolution and created a unique place called the United States. We may acknowledge the early Jamestown and Puritan colonists and mourn the dispossession of Native Americans, but we rarely grapple with the complexity of the nation's pre-revolutionary past. In this pathbreaking revision, Daniel Richter shows that the United States has a much deeper history than is apparent--that far from beginning with a clean slate, it is a nation with multiple pasts that stretch back as far as the Middle Ages, pasts whose legacies continue to shape the present. Exploring a vast range of original sources, Before the Revolution spans more than seven centuries and ranges across North America, Europe, and Africa. Richter recovers the lives of a stunning array of peoples--Indians, Spaniards, French, Dutch, Africans, English--as they struggled with one another and with their own people for control of land and resources. Their struggles occurred in a global context and built upon the remains of what came before. Gradually and unpredictably, distinctive patterns of North American culture took shape on a continent where no one yet imagined there would be nations called the United States, Canada, or Mexico. By seeing these trajectories on their own dynamic terms, rather than merely as a prelude to independence, Richter's epic vision reveals the deepest origins of American history.…

Paperback. Zustand: Good. How, where, when, and why did human beings take the first steps in their journey to populate North America? First published in 1987, The Great Journey tells the story of Brian Fagan's search for the first Americans - one of archaeology's great controversies. An enhanced edition of this dramatic narrative and real-life mystery follows the trail of evidence from the Old World to the New, beginning with an update on the debates and discoveries that have taken place since the late 1980s. Fagan presents the latest archacological findings on both sides of the Bering Strait, new genetic and linguistic research that amplifies earlier theories, and he assesses the importance of global warming to first settlement. The saga of how Asians came across the Bering Sea land bridge begins with the emergence of modern humans in tropical Africa some 150,000 years ago. Fagan describes the great Homo sapiens diaspora, which included the settlement of America, during the late Ice Age. He evaluates the various routes that brought Stone Age hunter-gatherers from Siberia into North America and beyond.…
