De la succession de Dr. Jutta Börker-Klähn (1942-2019), Privatdozentin für Altorientalistik in den Universitäten von Berlin, Würzburg und Hamburg. - Un bon exemplaire propre. - Extrait du texte : Le sondage stratigraphique exécuté en 1968 à Arslantepe-Malatya a permis de reconnaître sept périodes dont la plus ancienne, VU, est vraisemblablement contemporaine de celle d'Uruk Récent. A l'époque suivante on peut attribuer un sceau-cylindre (n° 2027) (fig. 1) recueilli en dehors des couches archéologiques et qui se rattache à la famille de ceux de Djemdet-Nasr. Ses proportions trapues, la hauteur étant presque égale au diamètre, la technique de la gravure, à l'aide d'une petite meule, et le décor abstrait, en grande partie linéaire, sont caractéristiques à cet égard. Ce décor associe un motif floral presque désintégré, à quatre pétales ovales entourés de cernes anguleux, et des zones quadrillées obliquement. Tel quel, il est extrêmement proche de celui d'un cylindre de la phase G de l'Amuq qui illustre un aspect provincial de la glyptique de Djemdet-Nasr. Les zones quadrillées, en effet, ne se rencontrent qu'exceptionnellement dans le Sud, alors qu'on les observe sur d'autres cylindres septentrionaux. Le cylindre d'Arslantepe diffère de celui de l'Amuq par deux bandes hachurées obliquement qui bordent ses extrémités. De telles frises n'apparaissent que rarement, en dehors des cylindres tout différents, en stéatite chauffée à basse température. En somme, il s'agit là d'un cylindre qui n'a pas dû être importé de Basse Mésopotamie et qui a donc pu être exécuté sur place ou dans la région; il témoigne de la diffusion jusqu'aux confins de l'Anatolie d'un type de sceau créé en même temps que la comptabilité et l'écriture de type sumérien. - Wikipedia: Pierre Amiet, né le 29 avril 1922 à Strasbourg et mort le 21 avril 2021 à Paris 17e, est un archéologue et conservateur de musée français, spécialiste du Proche-Orient ancien.
