Zustand: Good. Album in-folio grande (mm. 490x310) in legatura ottocentesca mezza pelle e angoli con alcuni piccoli restauri. Serie di 62 incisioni in rame: antiporta figurato, titolo inciso entro bordura ornata da fregi e figure, 60 tavole con animate scene a più personaggi raffiguranti episodi di attività varie nelle vie di Venezia, cioé professionisti, mestieri ambulanti, giochi popolari. In fine vi è il foglio inciso di "Indice dell'Arti contenute nell'opera". Ogni tavola è commentata, nel margine inferiore della lastra, da alcune righe in dialetto veneziano. Serie completa di deliziose incisioni in rame "documentazione di motivi popolari con una freschezza di taglio e d'impressioni colte dal vero, rese all'acquaforte con disinvoltura piacevole" (Pallucchini). I disegni preparatori originali sono conservati al Museo Correr. Esemplare della seconda edizione su cinque (prima Venezia 1753). Modesto esemplare a pieni margini, completo di tutte le incisioni in rame, le tavole 47-60 sono state rifilate ed applicate all'epoca su carta antica, le tavole 59, 60 e l'indice sono state restaurati, qualche lieve macchietta nel margine bianco, grande Ex-libris "Plummer of Middlestead" al contropiatto. Engraved title, engraved list of plates and 60 plates numbered 1-60 including the frontispiece. Complete as per the list of plates- but occasionally comes with an additional frontispiece and a memorial of the author neither here present. 60 FINE ENGRAVED PLATES OF VENETIAN TRADES.
