The first and only edition of this groundbreaking work, which represents the earliest collection of Turcoman nomad tales, compiled by musicologist, researcher, historian, and author Yusuf Ziya. A pioneer in the field, Yusuf Ziya conducted the first Turkish music and folklore collections, making significant contributions to the study of traditional culture. The book includes eight tales collected by the author during his travels, which began in July 1933 from the center of Afyon. The author gathered tales and legends from the Kacar, Karatekeli, Manavli, and Saritekeli tribes of Turkmen nomads in the Sandikli, Dinar, and Aydin regions. He also examined the villages that emerged from the settlement of some old Turkmen and Afsar tribes in the Dinar District. The work was published with the assistance of Ulali Enver and Ulali Hüseyin Efendi, who accompanied the author during these journeys. As of February 2025, OCLC shows 15 copies worldwide. The first and only edition of this early folk novel, built around a tale from Mugla region compiled by folklorist Yusuf Ziya Demircioglu. Signed and inscribed by the author in 1972. In his childhood, Yusuf Ziya Bey witnessed bards playing the saz and singing folk songs in the coffeehouses of Ula, an experience that deeply influenced him. His passion for playing the saz during his madrasah education led to his expulsion from school, after which he continued his studies in Mugla. Pursuing both a madrasah education and teacher training, he successfully passed the teaching exam and was appointed as a teacher in the village of Karabögürtlen, Ula, where he taught for two years. During this time, he conducted research on folk culture, collecting and narrating stories from the village elders, including the folk tales that would later form the basis of his published novels, Bos Besik and Akkus.
