ADB XLV, 358. - Vom böhmischen katholischen Theologen Augustin Zippe (1747 - 1816) verfasste Schrift über das Prager Generalseminar, dessen erster Rektor er von 1783 - 1785 war. Mit Darstellung des Seminargebäudes als Titelkupfer. - "Inzwischen war er im J. 1783, bei der Gründung der Generalseminarien, nach Prag berufen worden als erster Rector des dortigen Generalseminars. In dieser Eigenschaft verfaßte er die Schrift: ,Von der moralischen Bildung angehender Geistlichen in dem Generalseminario zu Prag" (Prag 1784). Schindler gibt seiner Verwaltung dieses Amtes das Zeugniß, daß unter ihm und seinem Nachfolger Hurdalek das Prager Generalseminar von den übrigen Instituten dieser Art in disciplinarer Beziehung eine ehrenvolle Ausnahme gemacht habe. 'Die beiden Rectoren Zippe und Hurdalek waren zwar auch Kinder ihrer Zeit, aber sittenreine, fromme, hochgebildete und erfahrene Priester, die ihres Erzieheramtes mit Ernst, Umsicht und aufopfernder Liebe walteten, um der katholischen Kirche nach bestem Wissen und Gewissen zu dienen.'"
