In den WarenkorbA single sheet poster printed in black and light brown in Zapf's Hunt Roman with Palatino Kursiv types, and Attika (decorative) units. Oblong, 330 x 435 mm. A poster in Fine condition, now in a clear, archival quality, protective display pocket. Hermann Zapf (1918-2015) was a German type designer and calligrapher. Typefaces he designed include Palatino, Optima and Zapfino. He is considered to be one of the greatest type designers of all time.

soft cover. Zustand: Good. First edition. 48 cm; 6 plates and 5 (of 6) guard sheets with descriptive letterpress. Plates exhibit types designed by Hermann Zapf with the assistance of his wife, Gudrun Zapf-von Hesse, for the Scott Paper Company, Printing and Converting Papers Division. Enclosed in paper portfolio embossed with title and raptor design. Portfolio rather worn at edges, and stained on upper wrap at lower left corner. Contents thumbed but generally very good. Each plate features a quotation about Freedom (by Hegel, Kant, Maugham, The Book of Common Prayer, Wendell Willkie, and Salvador de Madariaga, expressed in Zapf's exemplary letterforms. There is a paragraph of explanation on an overlay for each plate (one overlay is missing, however).
