We are a small yet independent nation, able to offer the world our newfound skills and products; an equal in the international arena. Arrival in New Zealand gives a sense of coming home to a familiar country, the pioneering heritage clearly visible all around.' Chapters include: Introductions Planned Settlement - New Zealand's historic small towns A Commemorative Tour - Tourist destinations of the 1880s Antiques - A forgotten treasure store Living in New Zealand - A community focus Technologies - Moving forward with confidence New Zealand Enterprise - A time of growth Directory of Contributors Malcolm Sheffield established Sheffield House Publications in the late 1970s. Under this brand, from 1979, he produced a series of books entitled 'This is New Zealand.' Their purpose was to promote New Zealand exporters, businesses, lifestyle, landscape, arts etc. Sometime they also featured other countries such as the USA, Australia, and Singapore. The firms involved with each publication recieved the finished book to give out to clients, particularly foreign clients, as a means of promoting New Zealand achievements and potential. Buch. Zustand: Neu. Neuware - 'Light in the Dark Belt: The Story of Rosa Young as Told by Herself' is a compelling autobiography that chronicles the life and transformative mission of Rosa Young, a pivotal figure in the history of the Lutheran church and African American education. Set in the rural South during the early 20th century, this narrative provides an intimate look at the challenges and triumphs of establishing schools and spiritual foundations within Alabama's 'Black Belt' region.Young's account details her tireless efforts to provide quality education and religious instruction to underserved communities during a period of significant social and economic hardship. Driven by a profound sense of calling, she navigated complex racial landscapes to found institutions that served as centers for community progress and hope. Through her personal reflections, readers gain a firsthand perspective on the grassroots development of Lutheran missions and the vital role of faith-based leadership in the American South. This work stands as an essential historical document, offering a unique voice in the tradition of African American autobiography. By highlighting Young's resilience and dedication, 'Light in the Dark Belt' remains a significant contribution to the study of American religious history, women's leadership, and the enduring quest for educational equity. This work has been selected by scholars as being culturally important, and is part of the knowledge base of civilization as we know it. Wraps. Presumed first edition/first printing. 74 p. Includes illustrations. Literature cited. Ink notation as report #1. This was prepared for the Air Force Cambridge Research Laboratories, Air Force Systems Command, United States Air Force, Bedford, MA. Prepared under Contract No. F19628-70-C-0042. Approved for public release. The results suggest that certain eV level arises from the electronic transition of the neutral charge state of the devacancy to the conduction band. An eV level arises from the A-center defect which exhibits only one kind of stress response. No electronic response can be observed for the A-center in the author's case of photoconductivity measurements. Their data fit very well with the A-center model given by G. D. Watkins and J. W. Corbett. Good. No dust jacket. Cover has some wear and soiling. Number stamped on front cover. Staple bound. Cloth strip as binding at spine beginning to separate at bottom half.
