Renewed endpapers. Undated, dated from the British Library. Profusely illustrated with over two thousand engravings, including thirty-five chromolithographic plates. Collated, complete. A comprehensive textbook systematically arranged into forty-five sub-groups, including American monkeys, seals, elephants, bats, shrews, bears, toothless animals, swimming birds, frogs etc. Edited by James Wylde, with an introduction to the study of natural history by Scottish zoologist Dr. Andrew Wilson. In a later cloth binding. Externally, smart, with rubbing and bumping to the extremities and light marks to the boards. Rear hinge to Vol II starting but firm.
