First edition (reprinted by Burke in Macon, Georgia, in 1912). 8vo. 131, 90, (1) pp. Arranged in two listings, alphabetically and by regiment or battalion. Civil War historian Bell I. Wiley's copy, with his ownership signature on the front endpaper; a previous bookseller has noted on the endpaper "(25 copies?)," as the pamphlet is frequently described with such a limitation, following Howes W-702: "25 copies ptd." Dornbusch III, 1064 (dating it "1881"). Nicholson, p. 495 ("25 copies printed"). OCLC locates 36 copies, at least one citing "25 copies" in its description. Later gilt-stamped burgundy cloth, floral endpapers, with the original printed front wrapper (lacking the rear wrapper and with the chipped final leaf, no loss of text, laid down on heavier paper). The apocryphal limitation notwithstanding, the pamphlet is scarce in trade (with no record on ABPC, 1976-2017, or on RareBookHub). (10174).…
