Unbound. Zustand: Near Fine. Small engraving. 9" x 11 3/4". Light foxing and discoloration along the edges, near fine. Worlidge was a painter and etcher. His major reputation was made by miniature portraits and in middle life his most popular work consisted of heads in black lead pencil for which he was commissioned by numerous leaders of fashionable society. Worlidge also led an interesting personal life. He married three times, supposedly fathering thirty-two children. In his later life, he was frequently drunk once going on a three day binge, was reckless with money, and stricken with gout.
