Full leather. Zustand: Near fine. The "Large Paper" limited edition set of the Complete Poetical Works of William Wordsworth, published in 1910. (illustrator). Limited Edition. Octavo, [ten volumes]. Finely bound in full green morocco, gilt embellishments stamped to covers. Five raised bands, title in gilt in gilt compartment on spine. Morocco and gilt embellished versos of covers, with top edge gilt and gilt turn-ins. Silky red free endpapers, light wear along edges from past bug damage. An ornate, deluxe binding, with no bindery imprint found. Sunned spines, points of rubbing to gilt top edge across multiple volumes. Solid text blocks, internally clean and fine. One of 500 limited edition "Large-Paper Copies," this set numbered 242. A beautiful collection. Some early copies of this Large Paper edition include a handwritten manuscript poem signed and dated by William Wordsworth, with additional colored plates bound before the frontispieces. This set, number 242, is lacking the handwritten poem and colored plates. It includes the standard frontispieces, featuring a portrait of Wordsworth in Volume I. The photogravure plates created for this set were based on photographs taken by Walmsley Brothers of Ambleside, England.
