Wolff (1898?1962) und der Forschungsmedizinerin Helen Goodell die Schmerzschwelle bei Temperaturempfinden (Dol-Einheit 1947). Sie testeten damit auch Analgetika. Mit beiden veröffentlichte er 1952 das Buch Pain sensations and reactions.
