In the letter, comprising of 13 lines, John Wolfenden is thanking Mrs. Wieler for an invitation to a supper party, "It must have been a great upheaval for you but I hope you felt some reward in the obvious enjoyment of your guests." John Frederick Wolfenden, Baron Wolfenden, CBE (1906Ð1985) was a British educationalist probably best remembered for chairing the Wolfenden Committee whose report, recommending the decriminalisation of homosexuality, was published in 1957. He was headmaster of Uppingham and Shrewsbury public schools. Very good. Signedes.
