Vintage borderless reference photograph of Evelyn Brent as Shanghai Lil from the 1937 serial film, with a mimeo snipe affixed to the verso. From the archive of noted Hollywood still photographer Ray Jones. Born in Wisconsin on January 1, 1901, Jones worked for Paramount Pictures in the early 1930s, and went on to be the head of the still photography department at Universal Pictures in 1935, where he worked well into the 1950s. Based on the 1934-1954 comic strip by pulp magazine author Don Moore and illustrator Alex Raymond. A Universal serial film in twelve chapters, wherein, two safaris search the African jungle for a missing heriess, one, lead by Jungle Jim, which wants to inform her of her inheritance and escort her back to civilization, and the other wants her dead for her fortune. 7.5 x 8.75 inches.
