Hardcover. Zustand: New. 51 pages : 33 cm. Fathers give a close picture of the relationship between father and child. Throughout history, it is the mother who has had the exclusive right to be portrayed in the role of love and care for children. Fathers finds the man in the role of caregiver and the book tries to find the essence of this relationship between a father and his children. From 2009 to 2013, Verena Winkelmann followed 73 fathers. This has resulted in almost 20,000 images. The book Fathers presents a selection of 21 photographs. Verena Winkelmann's portraits are not just an exploration of what the role of husband and father is in the 21st century. They also problematize the iconic man, and the role that is often given to him. Without wanting to give answers, the book raises questions about gender equality and male roles. The book has a newly written essay by Stephanie Bremerich: Up Close. Verena Winkelmann (b. 1973) lives and works in Oslo. She has been shown at a number of institutions at home and abroad. Fathers is her third book.…

Hardcover. Zustand: New. 47 pages, illustrations. English & Norwegian. At a low-security prison you can look in through the fences. What is artistic activity? Can my pictures show a situation that says something about being either shut in or shut out? Some of the photographs are taken on my way from or to the prison. Making pictures outside the defined zone is a way to open up and let the experiences from the prison affect the surroundings.…
