Smartly rebound in red half calf, retaining the contemporary brown calf and cloth boards. Externally, generally smart with slight bumping and rubbing and minor loss, more so to the original leather. A number of marks, especially to the rear boards. Internally, firmly bound. Folding map a little delicate with a few closed tears. The occasional pressed leaf tipped in. Pages noticably discoloured and featuring light sporadic spotting, heavier to the first and last few pages. Good. book.

Contemporary half calf, the large folding map with two small attachment tears without loss, marginal foxing, otherwise very good copies. *JEMIMAVILLE [where I used to live, one hundred years after publication] - 'A village in the parish of Kirkmichael, within the original district of Cromartyshire. Fairs are held here on the first Tuesday of April, the first Wednesday of August, and the last Tuesday of October. An urn of very antique form was found, about 25 years ago, within an earthen tumulus here. Population, 139, Houses 28.' There were no fairs during my time there, the number of houses had increased to 32, the population decreased to around 80.
