Butler argues that nature provides clear evidence that God exists as an intelligent designer.Appendix I in this work is the most significant part, in which Butler criticised John Locke's theory of personal identity. This appendix is still famous today, remaining the only part of the work which is still widely read.In a signed half calf binding by Bolton. In a half calf signed binding, with gilt detailing to back strip, with marbled paper covered boards. A touch of fading to back strip, as is common with calf of this colour. Front hinge strained, but firmly held. Internally, firmly bound. Offsetting to title page. Pages lightly age toned due to paper type, with the odd spot. Very Good. book.
