Leather is heavily rubbed, upper corners of boards exposed. Leather on back cover is peeling in places. Upper inch of front hinge split. If there was lettering or a title plate on the spine, it looks as though it has been lifted from the upper third of the spine. Binding remains tight. Pages are toned with foxing and damp-staining. Front attached endpaper is peeling, with a large piece missing in the middle. Some black and white illustrated plates throughout, at least one of which folds out, though it is torn. Overall this copy is well-worn, though sturdy.
