In den WarenkorbSoft cover. Zustand: Very Good. 5th or later Edition. Offering this satirical early scifi novella, "Flatland: A Romance of Many Dimensions," by Edwin A. Abbott under the pseudonym "A Square," with an introduction by William Garnett. Oxford: Basil Blackwell, 1944, 5th Edition, Revised. Features a rare, authentic red distributor's… stamp on the title page reading: "Agents for the United States BARNES & NOBLE, INC., 105 5th Ave., New York 3, N.Y." which is an Importer/Distributor stamp. The stamp marks the book as an original 1944 transatlantic import. During WWII, Basil Blackwell utilized Barnes & Noble as its exclusive US agent. Cream paper boards with tan pictorial dust jacket, Iine drawings and diagrams in b/w, rough cut pages, pp. 102. Explores the concepts of geometry, dimensions, and social hierarchy through a unique fictional world. Overall condition is Very Good. Binding is secure, jacket is moderately toned. There are several thin "slice marks" on the back cover, almost invisible, which do not cut through the jacket, not do they cut into the cover paper. Interior pages are bright and clean, with only a little darkening at the edges to the early and late few pages, no writing or other marks. A nice copy of this unusual book! [Science Fiction, Victorian Social Satire, Religious Allegory, Math/Geometry, Metaphysics] [A3].
