Illustrated with a black and white frontispiece by William Gregory Frux. A near fine copy, the binding square and firm, with rubbing to the top edges of the boards and a little spotting to the top edge of the closed textblock. The contents are clean throughout and without previous owners' inscriptions or stamps. One of 10 'lettered' copies, bound in full leather by Denis Gouey. This example is lettered 'J' and is signed and dated by Samuel Delany in black ink on the limitation page, who adds an inscription 'To Andy Richards / from'. Also signed by the illustrator Gregory William Frux along the bottom edge of the frontispiece. There was also an edition of 40 numbered copies bound in half leather and signed by the author. The limited edition was assembled using the sheets of the Arbor House trade first edition.
